I
sat down on the bed already lost in thought. It is up to a month now that my
mother has died, life without a mother is an empty life. Am feeling like I have
lost something precious in my life, which I know I have. How am I going to cope
without my mother? Will I be able to live without a mother’s love? All this
question is just keep running in my head.
My name is Anita,
I just turn sixteen last week which was the saddest birthday I ever heard in my
life since my mother is not there for me, she gave up last month so I don’t
expect a best birthday this year. I have a younger sister whose name is Loren.
She turns 14 last month before mum died. Dad is a business man he travels a
lot.
I was still
weeping when Loren walk into my room, I think she has been crying in her room also
cause I can see her eyes are already wet and red. She walks down to me and sat
down beside me crying while I put my arm round her shoulder and pet her.
Everything is
gonna be okay I said as I use my left hand to wipe her tears.
How are will going
to cope without mum? I have already missed her so much Loren said,
I also miss her
too, don’t worry dad is there for us, I said.
He is not going to
be like mum, u know dad don’t really care about us but only his business, she
said
Don’t worry I
gonna be there for you. You know I love u so much, I said as I kiss her forehead.
Are u sure? She
said
Yes, very sure, I
said. I let her rest her head on my shoulder while I pet her till she fell
asleep and I lay her gently on my bed and head straight to my dad room.
Dad!! I said while
knocking the door. He stands up and opens the door for me while I walk in.
Where is your
sister? Dad said
She is sleeping, I
replied
Really, so fast?
Anita you have to go to bed early you know you are resuming school tomorrow so
you won’t wake up late, he said
I know dad, but I
thought you said you are going for a business trip tomorrow, I said
Yes it’s just one
week trip and I want to you to take care of Loren and the house. That even
reminds me he said, as he open the drawer beside his bed and brings out some money
and gave it to me. Take this, is for you and your sister, manage it still I
come back next week, he said.
Ok dad, but dad I
am really missing mum, I said
Here too, don’t
worry am gonna be there for you, just go to bed so you will wake up early
tomorrow he said
Ok dad good night
I said as I walk out of his room and went to my room.
